About us..

Covering a wide diverse set of genres and time periods with a massive set list ( set list) Modern Vintage plays a wide range of "good time" positive "feel good" great dance/pop hits, rock n' roll, modern country, and singers & standards songs for select venues.. Modern Vintage is also available unplugged and can "fit" their massive set list to specific event/venue/audience. "Mashing" up songs creatively is a speciality of Modern Vintage ....Seamless transitions of songs that blend together songs from various periods... you will to come out to see Modern Vintage Live to experience it!

Bio

These band members have been thrilling metro DC audiences since the summer of 2013! They have converged over 100 years of musical experiences and talent together to form Modern Vintage.

The band mates came together to share their unique passion to deliver great fun, energetic, soulful, family friendly music with a common interest in musical styles, genres and gigging expectations. All of our members have played for years in venues and events ranging from festivals, taverns, restaurants, cafes, weddings to Stadiums, and Arenas. Music has been such a strong force for them throughout their life's. They will tell and share stories of how music has been a staple since they where children and although these members have "day time jobs and are doing alright", living life for them with out the ability to play, create and perform music would not be complete. They are quite thankful that they have been able to sustain their lifelong passions and are evermore excited that they  can share their love of music to the world!

Our Members Keep Active!!

Reed Livergood is an active member of "The Alexandria Harmonizers (AH)". AH competed in the 2014 Fall Mid-Atlantic District (M-AD) Convention and placed first out of 28 choruses.  AH had the highest average score at district competition ever and had the most men on stage (106) since 1993 (117).  Also, 2 out of 3 scoring categories (presentation, singing) saw the highest AH score ever while the music category (89.7) was the highest since 2001 (91.5).  This score currently places AH third in the upcoming international competition in Pittsburgh in July 2015 with 1 more district to compete...If you look at the list of past M-AD Champions, you will notice that AH is consistently up there.  Not only has AH won district a record 23x, but won the international competition 4x (1986, 1989, 1995, 1998).


Our founding keyboard member an alumni  "Bip" Ashraf is taking a break with Modern Vintage to produce his 4th album with his band "Winning" - they are planning a reunion show next year in Bangladesh to celebrate the release of the new album.  Winning has a fan base  spanning over decades  and routinely performs at concerts/shows in both the US and Bangladesh for special events. 

Bip's Bio:
Biplop Ashraf has over 25 years experience playing with rock, pop/dance music and played with the legendary rock band "Winning" out of Bangladesh. The band produced three successful albums, a fourth live one and videos during the 80s and early 90s. Biplop was a key composer of the Band and played as the primary keyboardist. In addition to producing videos and making TV appearances, the band forms reunion shows and has played on numerous occasions to audiences exceeding 10,000 people
