Mike Marolda/Saxaphone
Mike is a free-lance musician in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area. He plays for all occasions and does so with all of his heart. Playing music for the rest of his life has been a dream of Mike's for 26 years, going all the way back to childhood. Mike wishes to thank Bill Jacoby, Dennis Brown, Bryan Kidd, Billy Taylor, Yusef Lateef, and Jim Carroll for all the motivation to get to this point.
Highly trained in jazz music, Mike Marolda is also fluent in rock, funk, r&b, and anything else that swings. He is a fan of GOOD music; no matter what the style. Mike performs, studies, and listens to everything. Teaching music is another venture of his. He teaches saxophone, and clarinet. Mike received a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a Minor in Jazz Studies at George Mason University. He received an Associates degree from Northern Virginia Community College. He also studied at the University of North Texas, and the Hartt School of Music where he played lead tenor in their award-winning jazz ensembles.
Modern Vintage is super excited having Mike join the band with his background and experience which is such a great fit playing songs that move your heart and soul!
